Hillsdale football completes first day in pads. QB likes what he sees.

Training Camp 2010 finally got rolling today for the Hillsdale College Chargers and senior captain and quarterback Troy Weatherhead likes the progress he has seen already in camp.

He reports that the Chargers are staying healthy and a lot of eyes are on the guys expected to step up and fill the most noticeable holes left by graduation and position movement.

"Evan (Duey) looks good. Joe (Glendening) looks good, as do the freshmen linebackers. Everybody else is just doing their jobs."

Duey is the likely starter at the left tackle spot, vacated by Oakland Raider rookie Jared Veldheer. Glendening will do his best to fill the void left by record setting running back Vinnie Panizzi. True Freshman Jake Weddle is among other newcomers competing for linebacker positions that are still up in the air.

Weatherhead also said that coming into the season with a national ranking has really boosted the team's confidence, especially the incoming freshmen.

Hillsdale opens the season on September 3 against Ferris State.
