Greyhounds present challenge to Chargers
Hillsdale College needs road win at Indy to keep playoff hopes alive

Charger football is alive and well right now, and ranked No. 24 in the latest D2football.com poll. But to move forwards toward their ultimate goal of making the playoffs, Hillsdale College will have to beat Indianapolis on the road today, something they haven’t been able to do since 1995.
The Greyhounds, like the Chargers (4–1 overall, 4–1 GLIAC), are a team on the rise who at 4–1 have playoff hopes of their own. And with six of the last seven meetings between the two squads determined by a touchdown or less Hillsdale head coach Keith Otterbein expects a power struggle right from the start.
“This is one of those games that over the past few years we’ve really banged heads and been equally matched,” he said. “Every game has been a nitty–gritty, hammer–it–out type game where the guy who makes the most plays is going to win.”
Last year Hillsdale made more plays but just barely, in a 14–13 Charger homecoming victory where true freshman Brad Otterbein started the game at quarterback because of an injury to Mark Nicolet. It took a 98–yard drive and a touchdown pass to Aaron Waldie with 1:22 left on the clock to give Hillsdale the win.
This year coach Otterbein said he expects another tough contest, but he hopes the team can build on its 37–0 shutout of Michigan Tech last weekend because Indianapolis is a similar squad.
