Head football coaches from the 13 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference schools gathered today and voted for the league's post season honors, naming Michigan Tech quarterback Dan Mettlach player of the year, and Tech head coach Bernie Anderson coach of the year.
Hillsdale tight end Keith Recker was named to the conference offensive first team. Recker, a junior from Delphos, OH caught a team high 40 passes for 480 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Named to the second team offense was senior tackle Jake Welch. Senior linebacker Josh Mott and junior defensive back Chad Gurica were named to the second team defense.
Chargers receiving honorable mention were Andrew Daugherty (Jr./DL), Phil Martin (So./RB), Ike Dougherty (Jr./OL), Mitch May (Jr./DB), and Matt Britton (Jr./LB).
